HMS Invincible

BBC News reported on 8 February 2011 that the Ministry of Defence had announced the sale of Invincible to Leyal Ship Recycling in Turkey. Her hulk was towed from Portsmouth to Turkey on Thursday 24 March 2011 to be broken up.

How very sad is that?

Surely in this day and age we could think of a better use! other than scrap.

Floating Prison Just call it HMP Invincible instead of HMS (Save the tax payer and the environment building another prison)

It is to late now it has gone been sold on an E-bay type site and on its way to Turkey.

I have a question if the Turkish can buy it for scrap, they wouldn't have done so without thinking they could make money. Why didn't the British scrap it and make money.

I am so so confused and really begin to wonder what will happen to the ARK Royal.

Oh well another bit of British History scrapped!

The dormouse, reptile, bat and butterfly surveys will be continuing and we hope to undertake a bee survey as well but if you have any suggestions of the type of activities you would like please get in touch. Dormouse Survey – 10 th November No evidence of dormice was found but we did find a wood mouse nest. This caused a bit of excitement but unfortunately, the nest was empty! Crime Stats Alcester North October 2020

Well as crime has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks and it has always appeared difficult to find any meaningful crime stats. I have at long last found the information used by the Police lurking on the Police.uk website. It is not live data and runs approx 6 to 8 weeks in arrears for example October 2020 is now visible. This is a totally interactive tool, easy to use and has a great dashboard, what is good about this tool it also provides outcomes. The default is for the whole of the Alcester North area however it is simple to find out where the hot spots are and which crimes have been included.
