Staying Away

I have tried to stay away from blogging for a week. I almost got there but come Saturday afternoon my weeks events have me wanting to render a post. What ever you want to call it I have a desire to scribble away. 

At my normal time of day on Wednesday I tried to get out of the drive. Its a flipping good job I don't whiz out. In any case there was an inordinate amount of traffic and it took me more time than usual to make my way on to the High Ways and By ways of Warwickshire.

I was actually quite pleased on this day, I had the dog with me and needed to drop him off at my MIL. I dread turning right out off my lane on to a 60 mph road and will do everything to avoid including it in my journey. So I normally turn left and go the long way around. Wednesday the road to the left was closed (News to me) but I appreciated being able to turn right in relative safety.

Do you know what no one knew Forshaw Heath Road was going to be closed except for an A4 leaflet on lamp posts only readable by pedestrians not motorists. Doh sorry but motorists need to know this not pedestrians how flipping daft.

What was the result of the road being void of transport. Bodge job of pot holes. The three days allocated was done in a day with the advisory it would be 3 days.

The workman ship is dodgy
The quality is questionable
It took less than a day not 3 days

So where have the other two days gone ?

    The contractors hadn't bothered to notify local businesses either. We had to re-schedule the day's deliveries, causing no end of problems and delays and had to get special permissions for heavy goods vehicles coming in from the M42 to use Forshaw Heath Rd so they could avoid the weight restricted railway bridge or the narrow Tanners Green Lane.

    It doesn't take a lot to send out a few standardised letters or even make a few phone calls but nobody bothered. We were not impressed.

    Hello Earlswood GLC Good to see you here. I don't blame you for not being impressed I suspect it caused chaos. In fact tbh I am getting less impressed with SDC and WCC as the days pass by have you read the Solihull speed review. It is an interesting read and could affect you. For the better I may add. If only there was a bit of joined up thinking.

Core Strategy Consultation Period Stratford on Avon District

Crime Stats Alcester North October 2020

Well as crime has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks and it has always appeared difficult to find any meaningful crime stats. I have at long last found the information used by the Police lurking on the Police.uk website. It is not live data and runs approx 6 to 8 weeks in arrears for example October 2020 is now visible. This is a totally interactive tool, easy to use and has a great dashboard, what is good about this tool it also provides outcomes. The default is for the whole of the Alcester North area however it is simple to find out where the hot spots are and which crimes have been included.
