Well I haven't written for a while. I sort of ran out of things to chat to myself about. However today has rendered me speechless and my Husband shouting and using interesting hand gestures. For those of you that know the lakes causeway. It is a topic of hot debate as to whether it should close to motor vehicles. Like everything there are two different camps. As I slowly crossed the Causeway today in my little car going from the pump house towards Malthouse Lane, I could see a Cyclist coming towards me in the middle of the road. I slowed down almost to a stop quite wrongly thinking the arrogant Cyclist would pull over into the nearest recess, which happened to be devoid of pedestrians and we would pass each other safely. Oh how wrong could I be! now stopped before the recess I realised this particular Cyclist had no consideration for other road users or his own safety and left me wishing I had the dash-cam running because as sure as hell I would have uploaded the footage for all to view name and shame. He continued on his way without slowing down, swerving to my right (his left) and navigating the small gap between my car and the fence The complete arrogance, lack of consideration and if I didn't know better driver baiting tendencies for want of a better word was unbelievable. This Cyclist was dangerous and selfish if there was such a thing as a Cycling licence he should have it removed.
On the other hand a few seconds later I saw another Cyclist and did prepare myself for the same arrogance as the first one. As before I slowed down I didn't need to come to a full stop as the second Cyclist had seen me and my little car, pulled over in a safe place allowing both of us to continue our journey safely with consideration for each other alongside manners and a polite acknowledgement of each others presence.
