  As I reflect on the past few days, I can’t help but be reminded that amongst all the doom and gloom of our current times, there are also acts of kindness and humanity from complete and utter strangers. I was taken aback when one of these kind strangers realised what a pickle I was in when I couldn’t find my purse in my handbag or pockets as I was about to pay for my goodies, of course my initial thoughts were not to worry about the goodies I wanted to pay for but my vanishing purse. The gentleman in the que behind me must have sensed my total panic and quite simply said to the sales assistant I will pay and to me he said don’t worry I know how you feel. He had paid & disappeared by the time I had repacked my handbag and gathered my Cup of Coffee, cheese & bacon bake type thing and frozen peas to go with tea. That is what I call kind. Well as crime has been on my mind for the last couple of weeks and it has always appeared difficult to find any meaningful crime stats. I have at long last found the information used by the Police lurking on the Police.uk website. It is not live data and runs approx 6 to 8 weeks in arrears for example October 2020 is now visible. This is a totally interactive tool, easy to use and has a great dashboard, what is good about this tool it also provides outcomes. The default is for the whole of the Alcester North area however it is simple to find out where the hot spots are and which crimes have been included. Well it is the 3rd or fourth time I have wanted to scribble general thoughts and ramblings. I am currently feeling Sad, Confused, Annoyed and totally at the end of my tether with absolutely everything just in one short week we have had the following. A survey from PC asking us if we would notice a slight increase of the cost per week of our Parish Council Precept. A survey from the Police and Crime Commissioner  potentially asking the same question but for the Warwickshire Constabulary. Malthouse Lane Park now looks like a prison camp (Personal Opinion Only) so much for the openness of the Greenbelt. There is something new and special from the Earlswood & Forshaw Heath Residents Association. they have a brand new website. Personally, I think it is great to see it updated with a fresher look. Oh crikey, I can't tell you how useful this tool is for anyone having to take and produce minutes. I only wish I had known about it whilst conducting Team Meetings whilst having to run a meeting and rely on memory to produce accurate minutes. What a flipping godsend it would have been, let alone the time it would have saved. It recognises different speakers, It has the ability to transcribe in real-time or you can record the meeting and upload the MP3 voice file at a later date, Once the meting is transcribed you have the ability to edit any transcription it may have misunderstood whilst listening to the meeting, You can add the speaker's names download the text file, The free version gives you 600 minutes a month ie 10 hours of meetings, it allows 3 mp3 voice file uploads. It only transcribes 40 minutes at a time. From a different instance of a browser, it can record meetings (voice) and type at the same time. It saves both voice and text files. Recently having had a long chat with a friend of mine, s/he described how painful it was to type.  Now I know previously on this blog I have covered  what they call Text to Speech . Basically this tool is really useful if you can type quite happily but perhaps have difficulty with speech but I don't think I have covered Speech to Text. This is a different ball game where the use of hands is difficult or painful and typing is possibly the last thing you want to do. The biggest difficulty I had with this tool is that I found talking to my computer, whilst it quite happily typed away  in front of my eyes quite embarrassing. However once I had got over that particular hurdle, I found this free tool quite useful. I mumbled to it, I spoke quickly, I even spoke a load of proverbial **** to it and it still  transcribed my words into text. which I quite happily copied and pasted into this blog. Yes I still had to use my hands to copy and paste but at least I didn't have to us...

Well I expect those of you that tend to read this blog will no doubt know about this useful little tool or have something a little more modern available. So I am probably preaching to the converted.  This weeks find is a useful tool.  I must admit I didn't until someone on a different Social Media Platform asked a question. Me being me went to find out the answer in doing so. I then came across this tool, that allows you to map your walking routes and much more. You can keep your routes private or open them publicly. Personally I was blown away by this tool. There is an app which you can download to your mobile . I personally didn't bother. You can describe your routes the pros and cons and funnily enough it makes you realise when something is broken, not fit for purpose or a footpath suddenly disappears which did happen to me last week the time has come to start asking questions. Yesterday for the first time in approx 7 months. My MIL made it past the end of her drive in Malthouse Lane. I had already decided that it was time for my Mother In Law to get out of the house and out and about and for her to remember what the Parish looked like. She was wearing her mask. I have a sporty little number of a car. Where taking the roof back for those that know me, If its dry that is exactly what I do even through the winter months. Its quite simple the car can be warm even through the winter with its roof down. How on earth will MIL cope with a sports car? The fact is she does, I suspect its because it is lower to the ground and not so far for Mrs C senior to reach the seat. I hadn't got a clue where I was going. I just wanted my MIL to get out the house and remember some of the beautiful views and surrounding . We didn't go far and we didn't go for long. We just went down memory lanes and some new lanes. From all the doom and gloom in the local area of Forshaw Heath and Earlswood , whether it be road closures, traffic jams, ASB at the Lakes, Parking in Malthouse Lane, Litter, Fly tipping (Please note I have done quite well not to comment too much on the afore mentioned) Comes  a little bit of light relief from the most unexpected source. The beautiful sight of a Sunflower Field provided by  Becket's. I never expected to see this in England it just goes to show how much our climate has changed. As someone that once upon a time saw these beautiful happy fields for miles and miles whilst living in Spain and munched on their seeds (Called Pipas) Basically the seeds were roasted with salt and were a very cheap snack. They use to be dispensed in little machines, You put your peseta in turned the knob and got a handful of Pipas. That was a long time ago. Today they are sold in little plastic bags :-( and I can't remember the last time I saw a Pipa  dispenser in Spain. ...

Whilst surfing You Tube yesterday for all things Earlswood (Warwickshire) I came across this fairly new You Tube Channel that has short bite sized chunks of lovely video pertaining to the countryside or hidden corners.  I am actually quite excited about this channel  as it It's aim is to Explore all Counties of England. It's  not often I really promote something from someone I don't know but I really do think this You Tubers Channel is worth promoting. It is very similar to Warwickshire County Councils  recent Shop local videos but with a twist. It is countryside, hidden corners, walks, wildlife.
